The father of a man killed in a car crash near Liskeard has called for the closure of the road junction where the accident happened.

Richard Neale, 20, died when his car was in collision with a Land Rover at the Horningtops junction on the A38.

His father Barry said "how many more lives have got to be lost before something is really done about this?"

The driver of the Landrover, Edward Ward, 83, was acquitted on Wednesday of causing death by careless driving.

Mr Neale, a worker on the Torpoint Ferry, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth after the crash in April 2010 but died later from his injuries.

His father said: "There are 11 junctions from Liskeard to Trerulefoot roundabout turning right. Everyone of those junctions should be shut off."
