Cornwall man, 72, shot with Taser stun gun

A 72-year-old man has been shot with a Taser stun gun in a stand-off with armed police officers in a Cornish village.

Police said the man refused to come out of a house in St Day near Redruth after allegations of criminal damage.

A firearms unit and a police negotiator were called to the scene on Sunday.

A man was arrested at the scene for criminal damage and is being held in police custody, said a spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police.
