Redruth pedestrian death: Man arrested

A driver has been arrested after a pedestrian died on a Cornish road.

Police believe the man was walking in the Greenbank area of Redruth, when he was struck by a vehicle on St Day Road at about 01:30 GMT on Saturday.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been released on police bail until 2 December.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the pedestrian, who has not yet been named, died at the scene from his injuries.
