Environment Agency issues flood alerts for Cornwall

The Environment Agency has issued flood alerts for rivers across Cornwall.

It said flooding was possible on Friday in several towns including Saltash, Newquay, Bodmin, St Ives, Camelford and Camborne.

Those rivers on flood alert are the Lynher, Fowey, St Austell and Par, Helford and Fal, and both the lower and middle River Tamars.

Rivers in north Cornwall and west Cornwall have also been placed on alert by the agency.

The Met Office said there would be widespread ice over the weekend and drivers should take extra care.
