Pedestrian dies on A39 near Wadebridge

A pedestrian has been knocked down and killed on a main road in Cornwall, police have said.

The 44-year-old man was struck by the vehicle on the A39 near Wadebridge.

The emergency services were called to the incident at Whitecross at about 19:45 GMT on Friday. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Devon and Cornwall Police said they were investigating. Anyone with information about what happened is urged to contact them.
