Royal Cornwall Hospital delivers New Year's Day babies
Midwives at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro have had a busy start to the new year.
A baby boy named Finlay was born at 01:29 GMT, followed shortly by baby Olivia Mitchell who arrived at 02:21 GMT.
Olivia, who weighed 5lb 8oz (2.5kg), is the first child of Hanna Lewis and Daniel Mitchell, both 20, from Falmouth.
"We're both very tired, but over the moon," Mr Mitchell said.
Olivia was not due for nearly another two weeks, so having a New Year's Day baby was a "bit of a surprise", the new father told BBC News.
The maternity unit's sister said it had been a very busy start to the year, with four new babies being delivered by about 10:00 GMT.
