About 25,000 snowdrop bulbs are being planted at a National Trust property in Cornwall so visitors can track the progression of spring.

About 50 volunteers are expected to help plant the bulbs at Lanhydrock, near Bodmin, on Saturday.

Head gardener Tommy Teagle said the Higher Garden has daffodils and bluebells but fewer snowdrops.

Mr Teagle hopes the planting will create a continuation of colour throughout spring next year.
