Roche Victory Hall secures £189,000 for green improvements

A village hall in Cornwall has been awarded £189,000 after being voted a top community facility.

Roche Victory Hall Trust secured the money after topping Cornwall Council's poll for the best community facilities in Clay Country.

The funds will be used for a new heating system, an insulated ceiling and a new floor.

Clay Country Local Action Group, SITA Cornwall Trust and Roche Parish Council also contributed to the funds.

Brian Higman, from Roche Victory Hall Trust, said: "We have tried so many times to apply for funding to modernise the hall and now we can finally invest in the hall's future alongside reducing its overheads.

"This is a wonderful opportunity that will benefit so many people."
