'Gyrocopter' hits power cables near Falmouth

The pilot of an aircraft has escaped injury after hitting electricity cables and having to make an emergency landing in a field near Falmouth in Cornwall.

Emergency services were called at about 15:35 BST on Sunday with reports that an aircraft, believed by police to be a gyrocopter, had crashed in a field at Mawnan Smith.

Police and three fire crews were dispatched to find the aircraft.

The pilot was shaken but unhurt, the fire service said.
