Zennor cliff fall rock climber dies

A rock climber who was airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries after falling down cliffs in Cornwall has died.

The climber, who was part of an expedition, fell about 8m (26ft) at Bosigran, near Zennor - a popular climbing area - on Wednesday.

He was rescued by coastguard teams and a helicopter from RNAS Culdrose.

He died as a result of his injuries at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth on Wednesday night, police said.

The Health and Safety Executive said it was making preliminary enquiries into the incident.
