Twelve banned from Newquay town centre by summer patrol police

Twelve people have been banned from Newquay during the first weekend of summer season police patrols.

Seven extra officers are patrolling the town until mid-September, bringing the local police team up to 12 officers.

As well as the 12 banned from the town centre, there were eight arrests, 77 seizures of alcohol and four fake identities confiscated, police said.

In 2011, 104 people were banned from the town centre, Devon and Cornwall police added.
