Woman killed in St Austell crash named as Deborah Jones

A woman who died after being hit by a car in Cornwall has been named.

Deborah Jones, 47, from St Austell died in Derriford Hospital a day after she was knocked down by a Citroen Saxo in Tremayne Road, St Austell, on 12 July.

A man aged 18 arrested in connection with the death has been released on bail until 8 October.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the man and woman knew each other and the death was being treated as "unexplained".

In a statement Ms Jones' family said: "Debbie was a lovely person, a great mum and grandmother. She will be dearly missed."
