Man released on bail over A38 Halfway House motorcyclist death

A man arrested for causing death by dangerous driving has been released on police bail following a fatal road traffic accident.

A motorcyclist from Liskeard was killed in the accident on the A38 in the Glynn Valley in Cornwall.

The road, which was closed for several hours, reopened at about 06:00 BST.

The driver of a BMW, a 37-year-old man from St Austell, has been bailed until 9 January while officers continue with their investigation.

Devon and Cornwall police say the motorcyclist, who was in his early 70s had been travelling eastbound towards Liskeard, when he was in collision with a car and a HGV which was travelling in the opposite direction.

His next of kin have been informed.
