A 16-year-old boy has died after being found collapsed in the toilets at a Cornwall further education college.

Devon and Cornwall Police said they were investigating the circumstances of the death at Cornwall College, Saltash.

They said the boy was found on Wednesday afternoon and staff tried to resuscitate him, but he died later at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

Police said no-one was being sought over the death of the boy, called a "cheeky charmer" by his lecturer.

Jan Langley said people "couldn't help but like" the boy, who has not yet been named by police.

Dave Linnell, principal of the college, said: "We are deeply saddened by this tragedy.

"Our thoughts are with his family and friends. We are supporting students and staff at this difficult time."
