Artwork valued at £20,000 has been damaged in a burglary in Gunnislake, Cornwall.

The incident happened at an artist studio at St Anns Chapel, police have confirmed.

The studio was entered by forcing a secure door. Extensive damage was caused to the studio and to the artist's work.

Fifty abstract paintings were damaged, the majority of which were painted over with the artist's own paint.
