A child has been airlifted to hospital after losing consciousness in the sea off west Cornwall.

The girl was pulled from the water in Mousehole, coastguards said.

Witnesses told the BBC that a boy who noticed her in difficulty in the water dived in to get her and brought her to the side of a fishing boat.

She was airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. Her condition is not known.
