Road worker gets electric shock in Cornwall
A man who sustained an electric shock while carrying out road works in Cornwall is being treated in hospital.
South West Water (SWW) confirmed that a subcontractor working on an improvement scheme in Kenwyn Street, Truro received an electric shock at 16:00 BST.
The worker, who has not been named, was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro and later transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
An SWW spokesman said the man sustained burns to his arms and face.
Several businesses were without power following the incident and Western Power engineers were sent to the scene.
The SWW spokesman said: "South West Water is fully co-operating with an investigation into what happened."
