Body of woman found in River Camel 'wearing a nightdress and coat'

A woman whose body was discovered in a river in Cornwall was aged in her 80s and wearing a nightdress and purple coat, police say.

A member of the public found the body in the River Camel in Wadebridge, near a rugby club, at about 09:15 GMT on Sunday, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers had been initially treating the death as unexplained, but said they were now classing it as not suspicious.
