Bus stop crash seriously injures teenager in Penzance

A teenager has been seriously injured by a car which crashed into a bus stop.

The 16-year-old boy was treated by paramedics at the scene and flown to hospital by air ambulance, police said.

The blue Ford Focus smashed into the bus shelter on St Clare Street, Penzance, Cornwall, at 11:30 GMT on Monday.

Police said no other vehicles were involved and the female driver, who is in her 30s and from Penzance, has not been arrested.

The boy is being treated for a leg injury at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
