A 42-year-old woman who died after a disturbance at her Warwickshire home has been identified by police.

Gabrielle Chapman, who was known as "Gabi", was injured in an incident in Winfield Street, Rugby, on Saturday evening.

A post-mortem examination on Sunday found she had died from multiple stab wounds, Warwickshire Police said.

A 45-year-old man, who sustained a stomach injury during the incident, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The man remains in hospital and will be questioned in due course, a police spokeswoman said.

"Police are appealing for witnesses who saw Gabi during Saturday in the hours leading up to the incident at her home," she added.
