Coventry sex workers targeted in police crackdown

Plain clothes officers are targeting sex workers and kerb crawlers in Coventry.

The operation aims to disrupt demand for the sex industry in Hillfields, which has been visited by prostitutes for more 30 years, police said.

In a 10-day period, 20 female sex workers, aged between 17 and 35, were given a first caution. Two other women received a second caution.

Police said they aimed "to stop sex working in the area once and for all".
