Woman missing in Warton house fire

A woman is missing and thought to be inside a house which caught fire in Warwickshire.

Fire crews were called to the semi-detached house in Little Warton Road, Warton, near Polesworth, at 1425 GMT.

The ambulance service said two men, aged 56 and 21, were treated for smoke inhalation outside the house.

A woman was "unaccounted for" but believed to be inside the house, which is too badly damaged to be entered, the spokesman said.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Unfortunately, a woman was unaccounted for and is believed to be inside the building.

"Due to the level of damage to the property it was not possible for firefighters to enter the building."

Up to 25 firefighters were called to the house. A Warwickshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the fire had spread to a neighbouring property.

The house was said to be "well alight".
