Car crash through fence in Coventry kills teenage boy

A teenage boy has been killed after a car crashed through a fence and hit him in the Willenhall area of Coventry.

The crash happened in Remembrance Road at just after 2110 BST on Saturday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle to the scene where crews confirmed the boy had died.

A spokesman said a boy, believed to be 16, was trapped by the car, which appeared to have left the road and gone through a garden fence.

He added: "Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead shortly after the arrival of the emergency services."
