Three Warwickshire firefighters have appeared in court over the deaths of four colleagues in a warehouse fire.

Paul Simmons, Adrian Ashley and Timothy Woodward have been charged with manslaughter by gross negligence.

Warwickshire County Council is charged with failing to ensure safety at work.

The case, which follows a fire in Atherstone-on-Stour in which Ian Reid, John Averis, Ashley Stephens and Darren Yates-Badley all died, has been adjourned until 12 August.

The firefighters appeared at Leamington Spa Justice Centre and have not yet entered a plea.

The fire was on 2 November 2007.
