Arrest after Coventry Canal discovery of Emma Ewart's body

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a 27-year-old woman was found in a canal.

Emma Ewart was discovered in the Coventry Canal near to a bridge in Bedworth, Warwickshire, on 2 June.

A 42-year-old man was arrested in the Hillfields area of Coventry, officers said.

Ms Ewart, from Courthouse Green, Coventry, was last spoken to by her mother near to Ikea in the city centre on the afternoon of 24 May.

West Midlands Police said it was now leading the investigation into the death, working closely with Warwickshire Police, which had been leading the investigation since the body was found.
