Murder charge over woman found in Coventry Canal

A man has been charged with murder after the body of a 27-year-old woman was found in a canal.

Emma Ewart, a mother, was discovered in the Coventry Canal near to a bridge in Bedworth, Warwickshire, on 2 June.

Mazhar Rashid, 42, of Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry, who was arrested on Thursday, has been charged with her murder.

He will appear before magistrates in Coventry on Monday, West Midlands Police said.

Ms Ewart was from Courthouse Green in Coventry.
