Coventry boy dies after playground collapse
A four-year-old boy collapsed in a school playground and died later in hospital in Coventry.
West Midlands Police said they were alerted on Thursday afternoon to reports of a child having collapsed at Grangehurst Junior & Infants School.
A police spokesman, who has just released details, said teachers administered first aid and paramedics attempted to revive the boy.
The boy was pronounced dead at 1334 BST.
It is not yet known how the boy, whose family lived locally, died.
Sgt Stuart Grundy, from Coventry Police's Public Protection Unit, said: "We will have to wait for results of the post mortem examination to establish the precise cause of death but we do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances."
The school has so far declined to comment on the boy's death.
