Teenager charged over arson in Peterlee Walk

A teenager has been charged with arson after a fire at a Coventry flat where a 63-year-old man's body was recovered.

Allan Greasley, who lived alone, was rescued from the flat in Peterlee Walk, Walsgrave, by fire crews last month but was declared dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination proved inconclusive but he was already dead before the fire, police said.

The 16-year-old boy is due to appear at Coventry Youth Court on 29 July. Five others were released without charge.

A15-year-old girl and four boys - two aged 15, a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old - were arrested in connection with the fire on 23 June, police said.
