Nuneaton railway signal cables vandalised

Vandals have cut through railway signalling cable, causing huge rush hour delays in Warwickshire.

Four trains were cancelled and a further 12 delayed by the attack near Middlemarch Road in Nuneaton.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers, who attended along with Network Rail engineers, found the cable had been cut but not stolen.

Inquiries over the incident, which was reported at about 02:10 BST, were ongoing, BTP said.
