Boy's arm impaled on metal spike in Coventry

A nine-year-old boy has been flown to hospital after impaling his arm on a metal fence spike in Coventry.

The child was believed to have fallen from a tree when he impaled his arm at Naul's Mill Park before going to hospital with the pole in his arm.

The ambulance service was called to the site near Hewitt Avenue at 16:15 BST on Friday.

A spokesman added the fire service cut the pole at its base and ambulance crews gave the boy pain relief.
