Warwickshire's Pupil Referral Unit could shut

Educational centres for pupils excluded from school in Warwickshire could close down next year.

The county council has agreed to hold a consultation over the closure of its Pupil Referral Unit, which has sites in Rugby, Leamington Spa and Keresley.

The council said a new system would be put in place to cope with the closure, with funding for schools to set up their own programmes.

The referral unit had 146 pupils in June.
