A large fire at a retail park in Coventry caused "extensive damage" to a homeware store.

About 15 fire engines were sent to the Dunelm Mill store on the Orchard Retail Park in Willenhall.

The store's alarms went off at about 05:00 BST. A police spokesman said the fire may have been started deliberately.

London Road at St James Lane was closed while Toll Bar island was also affected.

The nearby Royal Mail sorting office was closed as a precaution resulting in some disruption to postal services in the area.

Baginton Fields Secondary School was also shut but Coventry City Council said it was expected to reopen on Friday.
