Lollipop men and women wanted by Worcestershire council

Worcestershire Council Council is looking for lollipop men and women.

It said four school crossing patrols in the county were vacant and it was organising a drop-in event for people who might be interested.

Councillor John Smith said the patrols did a "fantastic job" in encouraging children and parents to walk to school.

People can find out more at Tesco in Coldfield Road, Redditch, on 17 November between 10:00 GMT and 14:00 GMT.

Mr Smith, cabinet member for transport and highways, added: "We need the co-operation of residents in the community to help fill these vacant posts and provide safe crossing arrangements for everyone going to school."
