Classic car driver dies in Leamington Spa crash
A man has died after the car he was driving crashed into a tree in Warwickshire.
The collision happened on Old Milverton Lane, Blackdown, Leamington Spa, at around 14:45 GMT on Tuesday.
Crews arrived to find a classic car had struck a tree, and a second car with minor damage.
The driver of the classic car suffered chest injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver of the second car was uninjured.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The man driving the classic car suffered very serious chest injuries. Firefighters worked with ambulance staff to rapidly extricate the man so that advanced life support could be undertaken.
"Crews continued resuscitation whilst the doctor carried out a range of advanced medical techniques. Unfortunately, despite the extensive efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was pronounced dead on scene."
