Whitley Academy students report on Princess Royal visit

Students in Coventry will be covering the visit of the Princess Royal when she officially opens one of the city's newest academies on Tuesday.

Whitley Academy is partnered with the Royal Society for the Arts (RSA), of which Princess Anne is the president.

She will meet pupils taking part in BBC News School Report, a project that helps 11 to 16-year-olds develop their journalistic skills.

Students and staff will receive a memento to mark the visit.

The reports will then go on show at the city's Transport Museum on Saturday.

The 800-pupil school, which was formerly known as the Whitley Abbey Business and Enterprise College, achieved academy status in July last year.

It was rated "outstanding" by Ofsted in 2010.
