Coventry man in hospital after city centre stabbing

A man has undergone surgery after being stabbed in Coventry city centre.

The 22-year-old, from Coundon, was discovered in Hales Street at 01:45 BST. He was taken to hospital with a serious stomach injury.

He remains in a stable condition. Police have arrested a 23-year-old man from the city in connection with the incident.

Part of Hales Street, near the S7ven nightclub, was closed for much of the morning but has since reopened.
