Elderly couple hurt in robbery in Leamington Spa

An elderly couple were attacked by four robbers who forced their way into the house in Warwickshire.

The men, with their faces covered, assaulted the couple and demanded to know if they had valuables in their house in Leamington Spa, police said.

The woman was forced to remove her gold wedding ring, which was believed to be the only item stolen.

The couple were left shocked but were not seriously hurt in the incident on Monday night.

Warwickshire Police said the four men drove away in a dark-coloured car after the incident, which happened about 22:00 GMT.

The car was believed to have been driven to the Tesco car park in Solihull, near the junction 4 exit of the M42, about 22:45 GMT.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the force or Crimestoppers.
