Man and woman found stabbed at house in Coventry

A man and a woman in their 60s have been found with stab wounds at a house in Coventry.

Police were called to a report of disorder at the house on Uplands in Stoke at about 16:30 GMT on Wednesday.

The pair were taken to hospital where they are said to be in a stable condition.

A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and detained under the Mental Health Act, West Midlands Police said.

A spokesperson added: "At this early stage of inquiries police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, and those involved are believed to be known to one another."
