A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot in his arm.

The victim, named locally as Benjamin Buckeridge, was found in Faseman Avenue, Coventry on Tuesday.

He was treated in hospital but discharged himself on Wednesday, West Midlands Police said.

A 34-year-old man was detained by armed police at an address in the Holbrooks area at midday and has since been taken to a police station in the city.

Firearms officers surrounded a block of flats in the Tile Hill area at 14:00 BST.

Detectives have renewed their appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

Det Insp Stuart Bell said: "We'd like to thank the public for the way in which they have responded to this crime which has sent shockwaves through the community.

"I would ask for their continued support by giving us a call if they have any information which they think may help our ongoing investigation."
