Two people arrested in connection with the disappearance of a Coventry woman more than 20 years ago have been released on police bail.

Eighteen-year-old Nicola Payne was last seen in the Henley Green area of the city in 1991.

The 49-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were arrested at addresses in Coventry on Wednesday.

Both were released on police bail until April pending further inquiries, West Midlands Police said.

Police said two men, both 49, who were arrested in December on suspicion of her abduction and murder, remained on bail.

A woman, 51, arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice was also still on bail, police said.

Miss Payne had a seven-month-old child at the time of her disappearance.

No-one has ever been charged in connection with the case.
