Man dies after being hit by car in Stoke Heath

A man has died after being hit by a car in Coventry.

Police temporarily closed Mercer Avenue by Swancroft Road in Stoke Heath after the collision at about 16:30 GMT on Thursday.

An off-duty nurse carried out CPR until emergency crews arrived, but the pedestrian was confirmed dead, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The motorist was spoken to at the scene, a West Midlands Police spokesman said.
