Coventry football tournament in Daniel Kirkwood's memory
Friends and family of a teenager who was found stabbed outside a Coventry nightclub are holding a football tournament in his memory.
Daniel Kirkwood, 18, was found collapsed outside the Society Club, on Tower Street, in the early hours of 15 March. He had a stab wound to his neck and was later pronounced dead.
Five men have been charged with his murder.
His family said the tournament will take place at Peugeot FC later.
'A unifying factor'
The event will also include a raffle and auction at the Sphinx Sports and Social Club.
It is hoped the event will raise money for Mr Kirkwood's family to help pay for his funeral.
Daniel's cousin Joseph Henry, said: "Daniel was really into his sport. He was a big follower of West Ham. Sport and in particular, in this area, football is a unifying factor.
"Daniel would have loved to have seen people coming together."
