Two men charged with murdering a Coventry man who was stabbed in the chest have been remanded in custody.

Liam McGerrigan, 27, was pronounced dead after officers were called to Holyhead Road in the city just after 22:00 BST on Thursday.

Michael Bullingham, 33, of Banner Lane, Coventry; and Joseph Johnson, 25, of no fixed address; appeared before Birmingham magistrates.

They are due before the city's crown court on Thursday.

Detectives believe Mr McGerrigan staggered to an address in Holyhead Road after being fatally wounded in the street.

His family described him as a "kind, warm, sensitive soul" and said they were devastated by his loss.
