Three men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died in a suspected robbery.

Police found the man, aged in his 50s, unconscious in Fairfax Street, Coventry, at about 10:50 BST on Monday. He died in hospital.

A post-mortem examination was inconclusive and police said further tests would now be carried out to determine the cause of his death.

Three Coventry men, aged 27, 28 and 35, were being questioned.

Det Insp Warren Hines, of West Midlands Police, said: "We are continuing to follow up a number of lines of enquiry.

"The incident began with the theft of a bicycle from outside McDonalds in Coventry city centre, which culminated in a fight in Lady Herbert's Garden."
