Murder inquiry police name dead man as Jake Palfreyman, 21

The man who died following a "series of incidents" in Atherstone has been named as Jake Palfreyman.

Mr Palfreyman, 21, was found in Barsby Close on Sunday evening with serious head and torso injuries and died in hospital the following day.

Three men have been arrested in connection with his death.

A 31-year-old man from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

A 50-year-old man from Atherstone arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed until the end of June.

Another Atherstone man, aged 20, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has been released under investigation.

Warwickshire Police Det Insp Anna Middleton said police are "starting to get a better picture of Jake's final hours".

Police believe Mr Palfreyman was involved in a series of incidents that culminated in him receiving a serious head injury and falling unconscious.

Warwickshire Police are appealing to anyone with any information about events leading up to Mr Palfreyman's death to come forward.
