Nine arrests made in Cumbria illegal immigrant probe
Nine people have been arrested in restaurants in Cumbria as part of a crackdown on illegal workers.
On Thursday officers from the UK Border Agency arrested four Bangladeshi men on suspicion of a variety of immigration offences at the Prince of India in Windermere.
A further five men were arrested later when officers visited the Anamika Indian restaurant in Cleator Moor.
Employing an illegal worker can lead to a fine of £10,000, the Agency said.
