Mobile phone payment for parking in Barrow

A new system has been introduced to allow people using council car parks in a Cumbrian town to pay for their ticket without the need for coins.

Drivers in Barrow can use their mobile phones to pay by debit or credit card, using the cashless system.

There is a small additional fee for its use, but reminders will be sent if time is running out, and the ticket can be topped up without the need to return.

The number is shown on car park signs and payment machines.
