Tributes paid to Carlisle stab victim
Tributes have been paid to a man who was stabbed to death during a disturbance at a house in Cumbria.
Joseph Howard, 34, known as Downie, died in hospital after being found badly injured at a house in Balfour Road, Carlisle, on Sunday.
The 34-year-old's mother, Susan Howard, said he was "full of life" and would be sadly missed.
Cumbria Police have launched a murder inquiry and want to speak to two local men in connection with the death.
Ms Howard said: "On behalf of the family I would like to thank everyone for their support and sympathy at this terrible time.
"Downie was the eldest of my six children and lived life to the full. He was a true legend and will be sadly missed but never forgotten."
Det Chief Insp, Jason Hudson, who is leading the murder inquiry, said: "We believe two local men were involved in this incident and are following a number of strong lines of inquiry to trace them.
"We have been conducting house to house inquiries, scouring CCTV and speaking to key witnesses.
"However, I know there are others out there with information which could assist us who have yet to come forward."
