The family of an elderly couple who were found dead in their Kendal home have paid tribute to a "loving and happy" pair.

Post-mortem examinations established Stanley Wilson, 92, killed his wife 89-year-old Peggie before taking his own life.

They were found dead in their home in Mint Dale, Kendal, Cumbria on Friday evening.

A police investigation into the deaths is under way.

Mr Wilson's son Graham and his wife Barbara, along with Mrs Wilson's stepdaughter Sandra Smith and her husband Ralph, have paid tribute to them.

"We are all very sad at the loss of Stan and Peggie.

"They were a loving and happy couple with many friends and we hope that people will remember them for the happy lives they led, Stan with his bowling and Peggie for her love of scrabble, painting and needlework."
