Work has begun on a £150,000 play area at a Cumbrian estate which has been funded by the Big Lottery.

The site, at Croftlands in Ulverston, will feature different types of play equipment aimed at attracting users up to the age of teenagers.

A spokesman for South Lakeland District Council said building work was expected to be completed by the end of March.

Hilary Stephenson, portfolio holder for communities, said: "Once completed it will provide an excellent facility."
